This tapestry is inspired from an original woven in the 15th Century on a high-warp loom. At the time, tapestries were almost exclusively commissioned by the nobility, yet they often featured scenes from everyday life.

This scene depicts the barrelling of wine on the left, with a castle and surrounding vineyards in the background; and on the right, the selling of the vintage to richly-dressed merchants, with a fortified town in the background.
